The storm approached with frightening speed. In just a few minutes the cloudfront pushed from well behind the Three Sisters peaks to directly over my head at the Dee Wright Observatory on old McKenzie Highway. I took three photos in quick sequence, catching this lightening strike during the last exposure. As soon as I verified that I got it I picked up my tripod and ran as fast as I could down to my car. There's nothing like being on top of the highest object in the middle of a flat lava field during a powerful lightening storm to get your hair standing on end, literally.

I sell only what I would put on my own walls. All images are printed on archival grade baryta or museum grade cotton paper depending on the image. Baryta paper is best suited for high contrast black and white images with pure black and pure white values.
